KYM 500 Hours Yoga Teacher Training Course

KYM is a 40 years old Yoga institutions, founded by Sri TKV Desikachar, son and student of Purna Yogacharya Sri T. Krishnamacharya in 1976.

Course Details:

Sri Krishna Wellness Yoga and Cultural Centre – Malleshwaram, Bengaluru, in association with the internationally renowned KYM – Chennai is proud to announce the much respected 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification Program for the first time in Bengaluru.

Semesters:

  • Semester 1 – June 2017 to September 2017
  • Semester 2 – September 2017 – December 2017
  • Semester 3 – January 2018 –  April 2018

Class Schedule:

  • Saturday and Sunday – 9 AM to 6 PM
  • Monday to Friday – Free Yoga  Practice Sessions (Morning – 6 AM to 10:30 AM; Evening 5 PM to 8 PM )

Duration: 

9 Months

Special Gift:

Apart from Weekend KYM TTC classes, all the participants will get FREE Yoga Practice session from Monday to Friday worth Rs. 18000/-.

Faculty:

We are indeed honoured that all the senior teachers and the faculty will be coming from KYM – Chennai as faculty for this course.

Dr. Latha Satish

Dr. Latha Satish is a long-time student of veteran yoga master Sri TKV Desikachar. Her initial training as a child was under Yogacharya Shri BKS Iyengar and she also has the distinction of studying under Sri TKV Desikachar for over 30 years and is a faithful torchbearer of his teaching tradition.

Shri. S. SRIDHARAN

S. Sridharan, 66 years old, is the senior most of the faulty of the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM). He is presently the Trustee and Yoga Therapist Consultant and Teacher at KYM. He had the rare blessings of learning under Yogacharya T Krishnamacharya and then became a student of T.K.V. Desikachar in 1980s. He is presently a Member of the Indian Yoga Association and also a member of Technical Committee for standardization of Yoga Education under Quality Council of India.

Shri V Srinivasan

V Srinivasan is the one of the senior faculty of the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM). He is presently the Executive Director, Yoga Therapist Consultant and Teacher Trainer at KYM. He had the rare blessings of learning under Yogacharya Shri T.K.V. Desikachar as a student of Teacher Training Program at KYM and learnt the nuances of Yoga in theory and practice.

Smt. Nrithya Jagannathan

Nrithya Jagannathan holds a Diploma in Yoga from KYM and has over 12 years of experience as a Yoga teacher and Yoga Therapy consultant at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram.

Mentor-ship:
There will be continuous communication and mentoring by the KYM Teachers with the students. Personal Mentoring is a very important part of the KYM Yoga TTC Program to ensure that the Yoga Teachers are properly guided in order to become thoroughly proficient in teaching Yoga in the appropriate manner, and to ensure that the tradition is maintained and also that the science behind Yoga is properly understood.

Internship:
There would be a five days internship that will be held at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram – Chennai. In this internship, students get to practice teaching along with the senior teachers of KYM – Chennai.

A True Master – Purna Yogacharya Sri Krishnamacharya

(18th November, 1888 – 28th February ,1989)

  • Late Sri T. Krishnamacharya was unique in many ways as a Master of Yoga, as a teacher, as an Ayurvedic physician and as a scholar.
  • He is often called the Father of Modern Yoga
  • One of the most important masters who revived the practice of yoga in the early 20th century
  • His well – known disciples namely Sri BKS Iyengar, Sri Pattabhi Jois, Sri TKV Desikachar, and Madame Indra Devi.
  • Sri Krishnamacharya held degrees in all the six Vedic darśanas, or Indian philosophies.
  • He is widely considered as the architect of vinyāsa yoga in the sense of combining breathing or pranayama with movement.
  • He was also a good healer, adept in his diagnostic skills and created powerful yoga-based interventions focusing specifically on cikitsa or therapy.
  • Underlying all of Krishnamacharya’s teachings was the principle “Teach what is appropriate for an individual.”
  • He authored four books on yoga—Yoga Makaranda , Yogaasanagalu , Yoga Rahasya, and Yogavalli as well as several essays and poetic compositions.
